Fraunhofer ENAS will show toghether with seven institutes, the High Performance Center "Functional Integration in Micro- and Nanoelectronics" and the Fraunhofer Group Microelectronics their research and development competencies in the field of sensors and measuring technology at the Fraunhofer pavilion.
The High Performance Center „Functional Integration in Micro- and Nanoelectronics“ presents together with the Fraunhofer instituts ENAS, IPMS, IZM, IIS, IWU, IKTS, the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany as well as TU Dresden and TU Chemnitz demonstration system of the project SdSeMa - Structure-integrated wireless sensor/actuator technology for manufacturing systems. The project SdSeMa aims at the research on approaches for structure-integration of sensors into manufacturing systems using a ball screw drive as an example. The developed solutions, methods, and technologies apply to a lot of applications for functional integration in machine construction where an insignificant retroactive effect on machine and components, minimal form factor, robust installation in machines, intelligent data logging, preprocessing and wireless data transduction is relevant. The offered technologies result from a synergetic cooperation of different Fraunhofer institutes combining their competences to build competitive and innovative solutions.
Together with FRT GmbH and CWM GmbH, Fraunhofer ENAS presents the MicroProf® TL, an optical measurement tool with thermo unit incl. fully integrated heating and cooling plate. The tool is used for automated 3D surface metrology under thermal load for PCB design and simulation, 3D-IC, MEMS, bonded wafers and fault analysis. Furthermore, the institutes introduces a monitoring system for electroplating solutions. The system bases on optical sensors and was developed in a joint project with SHINKO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES Co., Ltd. from Japan.The cost-efficient optical sensor system identifiies chemical components in liquids very fast and can be integrate easily due to the compact size, a bluetooth interface and battery power source. Application fields for this systems are quality control of electroplating solutions, process measurement tools for process and quality control in food technology, environmental analysis and semiconductor industry.
